Boma Jewelry was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1981. Today, it remains a family-owned business focused on high-quality, sustainably-made jewelry. Over the last four decades, Boma Jewelry has evolved from being the jewelry maker for some of America's largest brands to being a leader focused on sustainable jewelry. Today we continue to utilize our experience to innovate and evolve, while ensuring our long-term commitment to ethical and environmental stewardship.

Our Heritage

From our start in 1981 to today, we've been a jewelry company focused on high-quality, handmade pieces of jewelry made to last a lifetime.

1981

Seattle

Our first office was located in the historic Pioneer Building on 1st Avenue. Our second office was located on 2nd Avenue in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, to which our "Belle Collection" essential designs are named after.

 

1985

Bangkok

In the early years, our journey to success was defined by our focus on high-quality sterling silver. As we built our own design and manufacturing team, our control on the sourcing, development, and creation of our jewelry has shaped us into the industry leader we are today.

 

1993

The Everything Silver Source™

Boma trademarks the Everything Silver Source™ and grows to be one of the top 20 silver jewelry manufacturers in North America.

 

1997

Major Retailers

Boma partners with some of the largest major retailers in America including: Nordstrom, QVC, Target, and American Eagle.

 

2016

Boma Girl Fund

Boma establishes the Boma Girl Fund to formally donate funds to programs created especially for our jewelry worker's families.

 

2019

Social-Purpose Corporation

Boma becomes a Social-Purpose Corporation, balancing Social and Environmental decisions into our everyday decision making.

 

2020

BIPOC Grant

Boma establishes its first grant program for BIPOC jewelry designers, providing production resources and mentorship to support independent BIPOC jewelry brands.

 

2021

B Corp Certification

Boma achieves B Corp Certification, which identifies that Boma meets the highest standards of social and environmental impact.

 

2021

40th Anniversary

Boma celebrates its 40th anniversary and moves its head office to North Queen Anne neighborhood in Seattle.

 

2022

Ridwell Partnership

Boma partners with Ridwell as a jewelry recycling partner in the Seattle area. Over 2,000 pounds of jewelry was sorted by our team for reuse and recycling, diverting over 96% of the collected jewelry from landfill.

 

2023

American Born Chinese

Boma works with the costume designers from the Disney+ television series, American Born Chinese. The featured necklace was modeled in orange jade and green jade and hand carved by Boma's artisans.
